Parque Zaragoza Spring Cleaning - IMPD, March 7 Join us for a Park Spring Cleaning as we prepare our neighborhood park grounds for community activities and enjoyment through the warmer seasons. Volunteer and sign up here: https://givepul.se/i6fhnz Parque Zaragoza’s All Things Trees & Park TLC - IMPD, November 2 Join us for It's My Park Day Fall on November 2nd at Parque Zaragoza as we give back to our park's heritage oak trees that have provided both homes to urban wildlife and shade to East Austin families for generations. Also help us recognize and welcome our park's 35 newly planted baby trees of many species. Come join your neighbors and celebrate our community park's namesake General Ignacio Zaragoza's leadership of the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862 we now celebrate as Cinco de Mayo! Parque Zaragoza Joins Austin Parks Foundation's It's My Park Day, Saturday, November 3rd! Beautify and Cleanup Parque Zaragoza volunteers will cleanup and refresh the butterfly and vegetable gardens in front of the recreation center, paint raised garden beds, add compost and new vegetable and herb plants where needed. We will also cleanup trash and debris around the park! Oct 10th at 7 PM, Parque Zaragoza Recreation Center If you could ask your City Council District Representative a question, what would it be? Join our next meeting Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 7PM to meet with Council Member Pio Renteria, District 3 and get the answer to your question in person. The Parque Zaragoza Neighborhood Association (PZNA) comprises both local businesses and residents, located within the association’s boundaries: North – Rosewood Avenue, Thompson Street, Govalle Avenue; West – Northwestern Avenue, Webberville Road, Robert Martinez Drive; East – Tillery Street; South – East Cesar Chavez Street. East Austin's first park for the Mexican American community, Parque Zaragoza Neighborhood Park, is now celebrating its 90th year of giving local residents a greenspace to enjoy.
